After blogging about her and talking about her on radio, you'd think I'd be sick of Elle. But no, I'm her biggest fan! My Huffington Post article finally came out today about Elle, the "scorned"  Oregon woman selling her house after her hubby ditched her for a 22 year old yoga gal. It's a lesson us real estate professionals need to learn! Read Truth in advertising...It works!  Peace out!

As many of you know, San Francisco Chronicle teamed up with me for their Home Decorating Video Series! First topic is about Baroque interior design tips. Watch as I deftly weave in men in tights & Madonna (Can't help it. It's my frame of reference!). Bust out that powdered wig & enjoy!

Listen to internet radio with mayaREguru on Blog Talk Radio
The Hip Roof Radio Show invited little ol' me to be the guest of honor on their real estate show. The hosts Maya Paveza & Fred Glick are real estate stars, so I'm sooo humbled. Starting at 18m 29s, we dish about:

*Brokers who micromanage agents. Are they nosy or just doing their job?
*California is a mess, is it still worth it to live here?
*New documentary Queen of Versailles? 90,000 sq ft mansion
*My new idol Elle, who shot to fame for selling her house once her boo left her!

*Seller beware! Some agents don't care about selling your place, they just use your listing to get more biz!

I'm super excited to announce my new home design video series for the San Francisco Chronicle! Enjoy!

Y'all watching Million Dollar Listing and see agents schmoozing in Gucci suits zipping around town in their Mercedes. It ain't that glamorous. In fact, selling real estate can be downright brutal. Fox Business' article "Real Estate Agent: The job can be a real killer" enumerates the perils of the job: high pressure, no guaranteed pay, and dangers lurk at each appointment....like murder!

Oakland is hoppin'!! First, the SF Guardian came out this spring with a cover story entitled, "Is Oakland Cooler Than SF?" Now, 247WallSt.com has crowned Oakland as the American city whose homes sell the fastest in the entire nation: An average of 24 days on the market!  Honestly, I ain't surprsied. With the recent influx of Asian money and high tech IT money, SF is now a playground for the rich and IPO'd. All the cool peeps (artists, hipsters, edgy folks...read: not rich) can't afford it, so they jumped to Oakland.

This Massachusetts gay couple offered $1M for an estate owned by the Catholic Diocese. All was hunky-dory until the church decided mid-way to cockblock these guys! Thank God (so to speak), the church made a boo boo and accidentally forwarded an email meant for their Realtor to the gay buyers. Oopsie-daisy! The email said: "Because of the potentiality of gay marriages there….we are not interested in going forward with these buyers." Lesson learned: Be careful about forwarding emails!
