After my smash hit appearance at the Sacramento Association of Realtors for AREAA, the self proclaimed "real estate diva deal-maker" Dao Tran & I dish about real estate. (We met one year ago! Dao, where's my anniversary ring??) During my presentation, I searched on twitter for SF Realtor, and amazingly, I found a tweet from a guy who needed help relocating to SF. I live tweeted him on stage, and by end of my chat, he tweeted me back to contact him. Awesome new lead! |

Bay Citizen/New York Times called me last week for my take on a rumor that San Francisco sellers were waiting to list their homes until after the Facebook IPO. They are allegedly counting on thousands of newly minted millionaires and all cash offers on their homes. Rumor or not, Facebook fever is hitting a feverish pitch. One Silicon Valley executive is willing to trade his 10,000 sq ft 11 acre home in Los Gatos for a stake in Facebook! Are you freaking kidding me? Has the Bay Area gone bonkers or is Facebook really that valuable?! ![]() This is a real ad of me, Mr. Hand Model! Asian Real Estate Association of America has invited me to speak about social networking and how I use my iPad for business. After my chat, you'll wonder how you ever closed a deal without one! Please come for a chance to win an Apple iPad & tickets to Sacramento Kings!
Above is a video of my hands swishing over an iPad! Sorry to be MIA for a minute, but I finally hopped on the bandwagon and joined Pinterest. I've been pinning for the past few days. For those of you living under a rock, this social media site has lit the world on fire. You create boards where you "pin" images that you like. Its users are primarily women from the mid-west, but it's catching on fast! One of my boards is named "Gals who put the Her back in Herman!" Check it out! I've been in the vlogging game for a few years now, so I often get asked by realtors how to videoblog. Sold Magazine incidentally had me do an exclusive clip for their readers about this very topic. Here some quick easy tips. Don't miss the last one. It's the most important, and most hilarious, tip! What a great interview with the Epoch Times! Since their readership is primarily Chinese, they asked me about social media as it relates to real estate to the Asian market. I said that culturally Asian clients tend to be private low-key and it goes against their tendency to overly share...but sharing is the whole premise of social media. It is important for Asian agents and clients to remain open to receiving and dispersing information this way to stay on top of the ever changing market We also discussed the importance weighing all factors in buying and selling a property. A good neighborhood does not guarantee a sale. Nor does a perfect condition home. With buyers being so picky (and especially with all cash buyers and/investors from Asia), it's got to be a great area, turn key condition, and attractive price for them to pull the trigger. Otherwise, they'll pass & wait for another good buy to hit. Oh, can I just say this is my new favorite portrait! The lines, color, lighting and my hair are epic! 謝謝 to photographer Will Taylor for making me prettier than I really am. (It's no surprise he shot with world famous photographer David LaChapelle this summer!) If any of you deal with Asian clients, what has your experience been like? Let's compare notes! Scott Monty, the head of social media for the Ford Motor Company, asked me to write a guest post about Real Estate & Social Media! So flattered someone as esteemed as Scott cares what I think. Excerpt: Social media is where people immediately go to for recommendations for anything and everything, from eateries to vacation spots to even real estate. As a service-oriented business predicated on spheres of influences, social media is more relevant than ever for this industry. Real estate is all about referrals and who you know...which, if you think about it, is what social media is all about. Read the rest here. Note: Scott runs The Social Media Marketing Blog where he share his perspectives on social media - the convergence of marketing, advertising and PR on the Web - for marketers, agencies, the enterprise and the individual.
