Last week, MSN.com posted an article called "What's wrong with House Hunters." It's the same old complaints: too fast, too fake, too blah blah blah. Um, hello... it's TV! Don't take it so seriously, folks. It's HGTV, not PBS! Of course, no one buys a house in 25 minutes. That's the beauty of TV. Rachel Ray miraculously whips up a soufflé in 10 minutes & nobody screams Bloody Mary! Why do real estate shows get called into question?

Thank you for writing this! So true! I don't get these people who watch these shows and then go on blogs or forums to complain about the show and the people on the shows (who are essentially acting)! It's all about entertainment, people. If you can't handle it, just switch the channel.

I completely disagree. No one is suggesting that you buy a home in 25 minutes, because even on the show the search stretches out for days. But to find out that these people are already under contract and then to pay them to walk through 2 other comps...and to watch all of the fake "I want a better yard" or "it isn't close enough to the school" BS is unacceptable. If you want to have a show, make it real and not some staged nonsense where you pay people and follow them around after they have made one of the bigger decisions of their life. Your point is dumb. I always knew that people weren't looking at only 3 homes but I did think they were going through a process.

Andrew, it is kind of a let down. But enjoy it for what it is. Good clean fun!

Its very difficult to judge that a house hunter you guide is real or fake.So be care full before dealing with a unknown person

Actually I'm relieved that the couples are already under contract for a house. The creeling and whining that goes on when they visit a house just makes me want to forcefully remind them "If you want a high-end house, pay high end money". And I was always puzzled how someone who's barely 25 years old knows when something is "too 80s". Everything needs updating and it isn't going to work unless there's stainless steel and granite countertops. So, in some cases, outstanding acting on our couple's part.
