That is no excuse! This Ontario rental agent turned away a gay couple who wanted to rent a basement unit from her client. Juliet Stewart says her clients, a Seventh-day Adventist husband and wife, told her in no uncertain terms during a screening interview that they would never allow a gay couple to rent their basement apartment. Even though this was in their basement, it is a separate rental unit and subject to Ontarios Human Rights Code. Can you believe this agent is hiding behind her client & tossing them under the bus too! She should know better!
