(g)Asian Real Estate Association of America in Sacramento
Apparently, I was the headliner for this event for Asian Real Estate Association of America. My presentation was about Social Media & Videoblogging.
I was excited to be on stage with fellow UC Berkeley Alum Senh Duong, who pioneered the famous film review site Rottentomatoes.com. My favorite part of any appearance is the Q&A section! I get to improv and sass people! Question: Is Technology just a fad? Me: That's a stupid question! Of course it's not. Every generation has its revolution. From radio in early 1900's to TV mid century to fax machines in the 1980's to Internet in the 90's and now it's social media. Question: What is the one piece of advice you'd give to someone starting out in social media? Me: Throw up a Facebook page. Reconnect with your friends and family. Even personal profile is a start. Some people contacted me on facebook about buying property. I went to high school with them & hadn't seen them in 15 yrs. They were looking for referrals on facebook. Bam! New escrow. And it didn't cost me a thing! Question: Is it expensive to videoblog? Me: Clearly, you didn't pay attention to my presentation. Vblog Tip # 5 is "Start Simple" Take baby steps. Personally I rent out studio space, audio visual crew, editors etc but that is because I am Herman. For some people, just use a webcam, smart phone or Kodak Play Touch Camera. Question: What is your secret to your success? Me: I'm not married. No kids. No pets. No plants. My clients are my babies. |
