With his tenure as head coach of the UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team having come to a close, Ben Howland is packing up and moving out of Bel Air. Despite three consecutive Final Fours appearances by the Bruins from 2006-08 under his watch, UCLA’s production waned in recent years, leading to Howland’s dismissal in late March. He now looks to wash his hands of his Los Angeles property, listing the stone-clad Canyon estate for $1.9 million.

Barrino has had long-standing troubles with the home. In 2009, the former "American Idol" winner almost got foreclosed on, but dodged the bullet at the 12th hour. Last April she put the house on the market, with an asking price of $800,000 ... $500,000 less than she paid for it. According to court docs, Barrino transferred the deed over to the bank in February ... skipping the foreclosure process and jumping right to the part where she loses her home. Actually this isn't a casualty of divorce. Rather it's a tale of a developer many decades ago trying to swallow up a row of houses with one building holding out. This is the result! Very inerestin' back story in full here!
To add insult to injury, you gotta pay $33/mo for parking fee too! This city is gettin' outta control! Of course this $80k parking space went pending quickly. There are lots high tech handsomely paid IT peeps who park their fancy cars!
The house was foreclosed upon in November and was being prepared for sale, said Brad German, a spokesman for Freddie Mac....Ritter, the police spokesman, said that the unidentified gunman started making demands related to the house after taking the firefighters hostage. "The power was turned off along with the cable and cell phone and so on, and he wanted all those things turned back on," said Ritter, adding that "apparently he was going through some financial issues." Every celeb who sells their house should do this! Rita mocks herself, her house and her realtors and it's a viral hit! Best line is: “Realtors to the semi-stars”... are standing by to take your offers. Hilarious! Kudos to her agents for having a sense of humor! Check out this fantabulous Beaux-Art mansion in San Francisco's exclusive neighborhood Presidio Terrace. And by exclusive, we mean class-ist, folks. LOL. It's super gated to block us proletariat riff-raff out! They used to be racist there too! Ain't no place for a working class gaysian like me. More pix and info at Huff Post! Home to California Senator Dianne Feinstein before she decamped for Pacific Heights in 2006, Presidio Terrace is infamous for its long-invalidated race restrictions. "There is only one spot in San Francisco where only Caucasians are permitted to buy or lease real estate or where they may reside," read an early 20th Century advertisement about the neighborhood. "That place is Presidio Terrace." |
